COH and its staff treat questions of health and safety with the utmost care.
We begin providing students with essential information about health, safety and emergency preparedness upon their registration. We ask students to be as detailed as possible when sharing their own health concerns with COH on their housing request forms. COH staff members use this information to determine which special requests can be accommodated, and prepare students for anything that could affect their stay in country.
COH provides additional information and resources regarding how to be safe and stay healthy throughout our pre-departure materials. Most importantly, COH student guests participate in detailed housing orientations where they receive important health, safety, and emergency information from our on-site staff. All COH apartments are provided with health and safety manuals and guidelines, and protocol for specific emergency situations, including flood, fire, earthquake, break-ins, and health issues.
All students receive cards and handbooks with our emergency number, which is also posted in all apartments. A member of COH staff is always available via this number to respond to housing emergencies.
